Your payment plan requires either full payment upfront or the agreed-upon down payment. The remaining balance will then be spread over 6 to 36 months, based on your selected terms.
Although people commonly refer to service contracts as “extended warranties,” there is an important distinction between the two. Warranties are issued with your vehicle from the manufacturer, and are included in the price, whether you purchase a new or certified pre-owned vehicle. A service contract is coverage you voluntarily purchase to protect your vehicle beyond the expiration of your factory warranty.
Most vehicle factory warranties expire 3 years from the purchase date or when the vehicle’s odometer reaches 36,000 miles. Coverages can range from comprehensive (“bumper-to-bumper”) to powertrain. Once your vehicle eclipses its factory warranty, you may be responsible for the cost of all repairs when mechanical failures occur. A service contract provides financial protection and peace of mind by covering the cost of unexpected repairs.
The right time to buy a service contract is a personal decision. The closer your vehicle gets to the expiration of its factory warranty, the more expensive the service contract is going to become. If you plan on keeping your vehicle past the limits of its factory warranty, then there is a significant benefit to locking in lower rates, and extended protection, by purchasing sooner rather than later. Similar to life insurance, coverage for a younger, “healthier” car will be less costly than for that of an older vehicle even though it may still be in its prime.
Not at all! Your auto insurance is there to cover you should you be involved in a collision or some other unfortunate event (theft, weather damage, etc.). A service contract covers the mechanical portion of your vehicle, which auto insurance does not. If you’re willing to pay thousands of dollars to protect the outside of your vehicle, you should consider the value of paying a fraction of that to cover the vital functions inside as well.
No, you can buy a service contract even if your vehicle is out of factory warranty coverage. We do our best to accommodate as many vehicles as we can!
We offer service contracts for vehicles with a model year 2000 and newer and have coverages for vehicles with up to 200,000 miles on their odometer, depending on the coverage plan level selected. Enter your vehicle information now to determine your coverage eligibility.
We will need the vehicle year, make, model, and mileage. We will also need the vehicle’s VIN and information about any types of extra features it may have (4×4, AWD, Turbo, Supercharger, etc.) as well submission of a photo of your vehicle’s odometer to confirm current mileage.
A VIN is a vehicle identification number. This number is 17 digits long and specifically identifies your vehicle. You can find this number on the inside of your door or at the bottom corner of the windshield on the driver’s side. This number will verify the information we need in order to give you an accurate service contract price quote.
There are many options available so it’s easy to find one to meet your budget. Simply call us at 803-400-6898 and we will guide you through our coverage offerings. We even offer interest-free financing to make paying for your contract simple. Remember—our number-one goal is to ensure our customers are completely satisfied, so always call us if you have any questions or issues.
An inspection is not required in order to buy a service contract. But if you have your vehicle inspected, we will allow full coverage to begin on day 1 (rather than waiting 30 days for breakdown coverage).
No, and don’t believe anyone that tells you theirs does! There are always certain exclusions of coverage, namely accident repairs and basic maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.). Depending on the level of coverage you choose, we will either specifically list what is covered and/or tell you what is not covered. There are no secrets with our contracts.

You make an initial down payment of at least 10% of the product price (or a minimum of $10). The remaining balance is divided into equal monthly payments, automatically deducted from your credit/debit card.
Yes, the payment term cannot exceed 50% of the length of your VSC term. For example, if your VSC lasts for 24 months, the maximum payment term is 12 months.
If a payment is missed, we will notify you and provide a grace period to bring your account up to date. Consistent non-payment may result in the suspension of your coverage.
No, the payment plan does not include interest charges. Your total cost will remain the same as the agreed price of the VSC
Yes, you can cancel your plan at any time. Applicable cancellation charges will apply, which will vary depending on the duration and terms of your contract.
You can use your service contract at any Repair Shop as defined in the contract. Even though you may be a weekend mechanic for some basic repairs, be sure to utilize the protection our service contract provides for more advanced repairs.
First and foremost, if your vehicle breaks down while driving, do everything you can to ensure you are safe. From there, simply call the roadside assistance number located in the contract. Once your vehicle is towed to the Repair Facility, please let the shop know that you have a service contract and to call the claims number located in the contract prior to beginning any work. We will take it from there. All you need to do is pick your car up when it’s fixed, and we will pay the shop directly!
If your vehicle has a failure that does not affect drivability, simply drive it to your local repair shop and have them call the number on your contract. Have them contact us and, again, we’ll take it from there!
You can always refer to your service contract to determine if a certain part or component is covered. If you would like us to explain coverage, just call us. Our experts will assist you to make sure you understand everything that is happening during the process.
A claim will only be denied if the component is not covered under the coverage level selected, if the repair was due to a pre-existing issue with your vehicle, or is otherwise excluded. A new service contract does not cover anything that is currently wrong with your vehicle. If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to call us.
This is easy, just call us! Our number is 1-800-903-7651 , or you can email us at support@1800warranty.com or sales@1800warranty.com with any questions.
Thank you!
Our Customer Care Representative will be in touch shortly to answer your questions.
